Profile:-

The School of Nursing is a unit of the St. Joseph's Hospital, Choondal, under the auspices of CMC Nirmala Province Thrissur. It was established in1st February 1978 and is the 3rd nursing school in Thrissur district with a primary intake of 15 students under the principal ship of Sr. Jose Mary CMC. The nursing school offered 3 year programme of General Nursing and Midwifery with the recognition of INC & KNC. Since then the school is ever growing in its strength, size and academic quality. The present intake is 50 students per annum and offers a 3 years programme of General Nursing & Midwifery under the recognition of INC & KNC.

In the year 2003, we celebrated the Silver Jubilee of our school and Blessing of Grotto done. On March 19th 2012 The School of Nursing was shifted to the new double storey building blessed by Fr. Sebastian Nediyani VC. The new building is furnished with all the facilities. We have Chavara hostel with all facilities. Hostel day is January 3rd, feast of Chavara Kuriakose Elias. Now 37th batch students are studying in this school.

Academics:-

Academic excellence has always been our prime goal based on our beloved founder, Bl.Chavara Kuriakose Elias vision and mission. Effective and updated teaching methods, coverage of the contents of course, thorough revision, periodical tests, regular examination and strict study hours help the students to ensure remarkable results. Our school is well known as Rankugalude Kootukari and also has achieved the Ever Rolling Trophy for the highest academic performance. The student's strength is 50.

SNA Activities:-

The Student Nurses Association activities started with the establishment of the school. Since then there had been conducting monthly SNA meetings, including educational & cultural programmes.
